The empty rectangle in a product photo rarely resembles the space under an actual sink. Pipes, a disposal, valves, and hinges can all change what fits. Empty the cabinet, check for leaks or maintenance needs, and map the usable areas before bringing in a new organizer.
Measure in sections
Note the width, depth, and height on each side of the pipes, rather than treating the cabinet as one large box. Include the door opening and the path a drawer would travel when pulled out. A unit that fits inside may still catch on a hinge. Keep access to plumbing and shut-off valves available.
Choose removable groups
Group items by task in bins you can lift out. Keep cleaning products in their original labeled containers and follow their storage directions. Child and pet access needs a separate solution; an organizer is not a safety lock. Do not combine products or transfer them into decorative bottles for the sake of a matching shelf.
Test the pull-out path
Use a cardboard box roughly the size of a candidate organizer. Slide it in and out while opening the cabinet door fully. Check handles, pipe elbows, and the disposal from more than one angle. Sometimes two small bins fit an irregular space better than one elaborate frame. Choose storage you can remove when plumbing needs attention.
